HBF Policy Conference 2026 - 24 March - 1 Wimpole Street, London

The government is doubling down on its pledge to “build, baby, build”, so how might these homes be delivered? What will be the keys to unlocking new homes supply?

The HBF Policy Conference in March will delve into the challenges facing the housebuilding sector and the opportunities and initiatives that could arise to help the industry build the homes the UK needs.

Housing secretary Steve Reed – who will be more than six months into his role at the time of the conference - will address the industry and lay out what can be expected from government and what the government expects from industry.

His thoughts will be reinforced by Homes England chief executive Amy Rees, also in her first year in the role. She will look at what Homes England is doing to facilitate new homes delivery.

Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Vistry, will give the housebuilders’ view on what they can deliver and what is needed to boost the building of new homes.

The strong line up continues with Peabody chief executive Ian McDermott who can give the housing association view of the challenges and opportunities ahead.

With more speakers to be announced, the HBF Policy Conference as ever will be there to help you find a path through the maze of regulation, legislation, taxation and economic confusion to ensure your business is best placed to deliver new homes and success in this complex market.

The conference will analyse the market, discuss mortgages and finance, look at government policy, assess ideas to improve planning as well as explore the challenges of skills, resources, materials and innovation. In addition there will be insights into the environmental, sustainability and quality issues and discussion on how innovation and excellence will help on the road to net zero.

There will be a special focus on Building Regulations and the wider legislative issues affecting home building.

The conference will be chaired by journalist and broadcaster John Pienaar and will also include an overview of the challenges facing the industry from HBF chief executive Neil Jefferson and market insights from Savills’ duo Lucian Cook and Emily Williams
