CABE launches construction skills drive

CABE has launched a new campaign aimed at urging young people to consider a career in the construction. Making Places has been created in partnership with the built environment professions, and aims to inform career advisers and young people of the vocational opportunities within architecture, engineering, horticulture, landscape, planning, surveying and other related careers. Sunand Prasad, CABE commissioner, explained: “Today’s pace of developing and building sustainable communities needs the talent, imagination and skill of far more young people. The built environment professions currently have more vacancies than students available to fill them and with our partners we want to raise awareness of the many exciting and rewarding career options open to students."
