Cala loses latest round in RSS battle

Cala Homes has failed in its latest challenge to the government’s decision to scrap regional spatial strategies. The High Court ruled against its appeal for a judicial review last month. <br> <br> Cala is to appeal to continue the long running battle. In November the housebuilder successfully won a ruling that the government’s abolition of the RSSs was unlawful, but the government said the ruling had little effect and that local authorities – when making planning decisions - need to take into consideration the government’s intention to abolish the RSSs in the near future. <br> <br> Cala was seeking a review of this advice but the ruling backs the government’s decision.<br> <br>
