Call for housebuilders to sign up for the Hope Challenge

Several teams of housebuilders are to compete in this year’s Hope Challenge in aid of Habitat for Humanity, taking on the challenge of building shelters out of scrap materials and sleeping out in them for two nights. <br> <br> Hope Challenge 2011 is co-sponsored by CB Richard Ellis, Lovell and founding sponsor the NHBC whose general manager – business development David Marchant, says: “Our staff will be participating in what promises to be a tremendous event, and I encourage companies of all kinds to enter teams of their own.” <br> <br> Hope Challenge runs from July 1 to July 3. Apart from building shelters, teams will hike up to 32km with 1,000m of hill ascent and test their teamwork on various physical and mental challenges and compete against each other in an atmosphere of camaraderie and common purpose. <br> <br> The Hope Challenge has a serious side to it too. Participants on the event will be able to swap their makeshift shelters for their own comfortable homes and beds on the Sunday night, but for millions of people round the world, a makeshift shack of plastic, wood, cardboard, and other scavenged materials is the only home they have.
