Communities secretary John Denham recently visited the first Kickstart programme of the South. The site on Portswood Road, Southampton, will receive £5.567 million in HCA funding. It is a joint venture between the London based Generator Group, Southampton based developer Orchard Homes and Radian, a major housing and care provider in the south east. On the day of his visit, Denham said: “Today I’ve seen for myself how the power of government can make a real difference, getting work started at Portswood Road just weeks after news of extra cash.” <br>
