English Partnerships will make £67 million on hospital sites

English Partnerships (EP) is set to make a profit of £67 million on its hospital sites schemes, which it says it will plough back into other projects. David Hughes, EP’s project director said the hospital sites cost £334 million to buy. EP hopes to sell them for £425 million with £24 million going on consultants' fees, site costs and holding costs. Hughes said: “If we don’t achieve the £360 million on this other projects will lose out.” He added: “We are removing all the risks for the developer.” Hughes also announced that Taylor Woodrow has been named as the preferred developer at the Park Prewett hospital site in Basingtoke. The housebuilder beat off seven other bidders for the prize for the 34 hectare site which will provide 1,000 new homes, 130 of which have been earmarked for the Design for Manufacture competition.
