EP's "Summit" home is a storey too far

Eyebrows were raised at the ODPM's Delivering Sustainable Communities Summit when it emerged that English Partnership's low cost demonstration home cost £90,000 - somewhat more than the £60,000 target of EP's new housing competition. Deputy prime minister John Prescott had held up the home as an example of £60,000 construction. But that was the cost for two storeys, not the impressive three storey structure that dominated the exhibitoon floor.
