The Future Homes Hub has launched a good practice guide to help sales and marketing teams prepare for the selling of all-electric, low energy homes.
The Future Homes Standard – Home Buyer Customer Journey: Developers Good Practice Guide demonstrates how new homes should be marketed, sold and supported, with the introduction of the Future Homes Standard (FHS) representing a “major change for the sector”. The guide covers the entire customer journey, offering practical tips, case studies and real-world examples.
The Hub pointed out that sales teams would need to go “beyond selling homes” to educating people on low energy homes, explaining new systems including low-temperature heating, solar panels and smart time-of-use energy tariffs “in clear, everyday language”.
With fundamental changes to new homes approaching, the Hub said sales and marketing teams would need to reassure buyers and shape their expectations around comfort, energy use and lifestyle changes.
The guide includes a suite of ready-to-use content and messaging:
- For marketing teams: Materials to support campaigns that position FHS homes as the new normal, focusing on comfort, sustainability and “future-readiness”
