Galliford Try plans major Linden rebrand

Galliford Try is pumping resources into Linden, with plans for a major rebrand and launch into the central London market, since its £244.5 million acquisition of the privately owned housebuilder was completed in March. Chris Coates, former md of Linden’s Chiltern region, has been chosen to head up GT’s enlarged housebuilding division in the south east, including Try Homes, which will be rebranded by June. Coates told Housebuilder that GT’s experience of the central London market has given Linden the necessary backing to launch Linden London, which was “a long held aspiration.” “Linden had worked in cities like Bristol and Southampton, but this is quite a dramatic change; it’s very exciting,”he said. GT has appointed two of its senior land directors to start buying sites in the capital. Coates revealed that the new-look Linden brand will be rolled out from May. “It will be more cosmopolitan, more modern, to reflect the product we’re building.” GT plans to build 3,000 homes a year, taking it into the housebuilding top ten. Linden chief executive Philip Davies plans to stay on for six months to oversee the intergration.
