Goldfish could soon be coming to the rescue of Britain's flood-threatened housing sites. <p></p><p>Researchers at Edinburgh University believe that man-made ponds and lakes are the solution as they hold stormwater run-off and then allow it to slowly filter back into the ground. These need to be kept clean and that is where the goldfish come in, said Dr Miklas Scholz, a civil engineering researcher at Edinburgh University.
