HCA names first land disposal sites

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has revealed the first sites to be released through the land disposal programme as announced in the Budget. <br> <br> HCA will use its experience and property assets to bring forward sites for development at an accelerated rate, which will allow more homes to be delivered on its land. <br> <br> Sites announced include Cherry Tree Lane in Hemel Hempstead, Park Prewett, Basingstoke, and Blackwall Reach, Tower Hamlets. <br> <br> Also last month, the HCA published a FirstBuy Prospectus inviting housebuilders to put forward developments for consideration. <br> <br> HCA’s Prospectus outlines the criteria against which it will assess bids from housebuilders, including deliverability, type of property, standards and price. It also informs consumers of the buying process. <br> <br> In a busy month for HCA, it released its preliminary end-of-year results. It reported that despite the ongoing economic difficulties, it had met or exceeded its key output targets for 2010–11. Under its property and regeneration programme, the HCA reclaimed 272 hectares of brownfield land against a target of 215 hectares. <br> <br> HCA will formally report the results in June. <br> <br>
