It&’s a long road ahead

<b></b><p></p><p>The latest National Customer Satisfaction Survey results underline what a long battle still has to be fought to boost the image of the housebuilding industry.</p><p> Despite satisfying almost nine out of ten customers, the industry has to face the fact that only about half of our buyers would favour buying another newly built home. </p><p> And just 22% of customers say that new homes are better built than old, although almost eight out of ten say they are satisfied with the construction of their new house.</p><p> I think there are two things going on here. First, shifting established attitudes about new build is proving immensely difficult - it has become a knee-jerk reaction to say that older houses are built better than modern homes. </p><p> But second, housebuilders are suffering for providing consistently poor after sales service which is tainting even the good aspects of the new home buying process. </p><p> A massive 34% of respondents are dissatisfied with the after sales service they received. This leaves a bad taste in the mouths of customers at the end of the transaction - no wonder they express reservations about the new home buying process as a whole. </p><p> Too many customers …
