Key housing measures in Pre Budget Report

<p>The chancellor's Pre Budget Report included several measures affecting housing in the UK. These include:</p> <p>* no extension of the stamp duty holiday beyond 2010</p> <p>* further support for HomeBuy Direct with an extra 3,000 new home sales over and above original 10,000 home target - £100 million of HBD funding moved from 2009-2010 to 2010-2011</p> <p>* measures to ensure every local authority has a robust five year land supply </p> <p>* establishment of a "national baseline for regulatory costs across goverment to manage and mitigate the cumulative impacts of any new requirements. This will be managed by CLG and will cover all central government departments and local authorities and will result in a co-ordinated approach to new regualtion".</p> <p>* postponement of Lifetime Homes until at least 2013 and a review of the standards</p> <p>* consulation in early 2010 to consider contribution of the private rented sector to increasing housing supply</p>
