<b>Marketer Lorraine Morrissey argues that if we explain the rationale behind PPG3 to new home buyers, they will embrace the ideas and understand better the drive for better communities</b><br><b>Much of my year has been spent on a market research project for the 2002 NHMB and Halifax Report - New Homes Today. Something odd emerged as I was travelling the country talking to home owners on PPG3-compliant sites. Some residents actually like the shape of developments to come.</b><br> I wasn&amp;’t expecting to find that. I know that going into a research project with preconceptions is dangerous so I was trying to stay open minded.<p></p><p> Everyone is worried about the car parking restrictions and the consequent disputes with neighbours and lack of visibility for drivers negotiating parked cars. The fans of mixed unit/higher density were few and far between - but they did exist and they were appreciative of what the government is trying to do. Some of them even had a social conscience.
