Advertisement hoardings usually require planning permission but developers have the benefit of a deemed consent under Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 1992 for certain types of advert. These are all subject to restrictions on size, location and number and include:<p></p><p> * notice or sign for identification, direction or warning</p><p> * notices to show that a partnership/company/professional is carrying on business on site, including builders, subcontractors</p><p> * temporary notices to advertise a forthcoming event, sales etc</p><p> Some of these can be illuminated.
