NHBC has shaken up the rules of its Pride In the Job competition as it enters its 23rd year. The medium and small housebuilder category have been combined into one for all firms building fewer than 300 homes a year. There is a new multi-storey category acknowledging the different skills required to project manage high rise development.<p></p><p>The alterations are designed to reflect changes affecting the industry including the current boom in multi-storey developments and the large numbers of mergers and consolidations which have taken place in recent years. Imtiaz Farookhi, chief executive of NHBC, says: &“We recognise that the industry is developing, with new styles of design and new methods of construction, and new demands on site.
