Customers want quality, intelligence, sleek lines and stainless steel - but are your kitchens big enough to satisfy their needs? Andrew Leech looks at the options for kitchens both big and small</b></b><br><b>Such are the fine lines of today&amp;’s electrical appliances for kitchens that they almost steal a march on the surrounding furniture. </b><br><b>And whilst built-in still predominates in new build houses, there is a trend towards free-standing cooker ranges and American-style fridge freezers, bringing a new aesthetic dimension to the cooking environment as well as several energy efficiency features. </b><br><b><b>Space at a premium</b></b><br> The retrofit kitchen market is, perhaps, a good barometer of trends. According to research from the Kitchen Specialists Association, in terms of oven size and style, singles, doubles and ranges are all sold to the consumer in fairly equal quantities, and stainless steel remains the vogue.
