<b><b>Our new clandestine correspondent, The Walrus, takes a sideways view of the life of a senior manager in the fun world of housebuilding. This month - where did you get that name? And a bit of trouble with Charlie</b></b><br><b>I am the walrus. True, a sizeable minority regard me as a slightly dangerous horse. But mostly, I am the walrus. I know this because my company commissioned a detailed analysis of staff to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of the organisation - and it found that the animals that most reflect my personality are the walrus or the mad horse. </b><br><b>Apparently, this type of staff analysis is now a legitimate and effective management technique; but you&amp;’ve got to admit, it&amp;’s a bit weird. If I am a slightly dangerous horse, where do I go next? Become a bit more dangerous? Motivationally this seems questionable. A faster horse might win The Derby. A better jumper could end up cantering around the country with a Lucinda or Letitia on its back. But become more dangerous and you run a real risk of non-consensual castration.
