<b><b>Steve Menary reports on a new survey by planning information specialist Glenigan which identifies which developers made detailed planning applications where last year</b></b><br><b> Barratt made more attempts to boost its landbank during last year than any other housebuilder, according to an exclusive new survey. </b><br><b><b>Top 10 builder</b></b><br> The study, carried out exclusively for <i>HouseBuilder</i> by Glenigan, the planning and construction information specialist, ranks housebuilders in Britain's 11 regions by the number of units included in detailed planning applications. <p></p><p>Barratt, the second-biggest housebuilder on completions in 1999, tops four regions in the study, which features submissions for 10 or more units during last year. </p><p>The Newcastle-based group was the only housebuilder to reach pole position in more than one region and finished in the top 10 in all but one region, East Anglia. </p><p>John Fraser-Andrews, housebuilding analyst at stockbroker Credit Lyonnais Securities, commented: &amp;"I am not surprised by this. [Barratt] is an aggressively-run company.&amp;"</p><p> In the North West, the survey says Barratt submitted 11 detailed applications between January 1 2000 and December 31 2000 for a total of 1,010 units.</p><p> Morris Homes was ranked second in the North West region with 13 applications for 906 units - nearly double the amount …
