Matthew Pratt is Redrow Chief Executive and Group Executive Director at Barratt Redrow plc.
A trained quantity surveyor, Matthew graduated with a degree in Construction from Nottingham Trent University. He joined Redrow in January 2003 as Chief Quantity Surveyor and steadily progressed through the company, holding senior positions including Managing Director of Redrow Midlands and Regional Chief Executive. In April 2019, he was appointed to the Board as Chief Operating Officer before being promoted to Group Chief Executive on 1 July 2020.

As Chief Executive, Matthew spearheaded Redrow’s business innovations, including the proactive rollout of air source heat pumps across all homes ahead of regulatory requirements. Following the combination with Barratt in August 2024, he joined the Board as a Group Executive Director, where, as Redrow Chief Executive, he continues to lead the brand, driving its strategic direction, operational performance, and commitment to sustainable homebuilding.

Beyond his role at Redrow, Matthew is Chair of the Home Building Skills Partnership and co-chair of the Future Homes Hub’s Implementation Board, championing industry-wide skills development and sustainable construction.

With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Matthew’s career trajectory—from quantity surveyor to industry leader—gives him a deep understanding of the sector’s opportunities and challenges, as well as a strong commitment to nurturing future talent.
