Call for the industry to take up Hope Challenge

The housebuilding industry is being invited to step up to the Hope Challenge once more, the outdoor team challenge event taking place in the Peak District over the weekend of June 11 – 13. Teams will join organisations from the IT and finance sectors to attempt to raise more than £150,000 to support the work of international housing charity Habitat for Humanity. The charity is a non-profit organisation which strives to eliminate poverty housing worldwide and has proved popular within the construction industry. <br> <br> NHBC is resuming its role as founding sponsor. Those up for the Hope challenge are being asked to form teams of three to six people to test their fitness, strategy and teamwork skills; the mission comprises building and sleeping in an overnight shelter, covering around 1,000m of hill ascent and trekking 20 miles on foot. By sleeping in a shelter using materials that the teams provide themselves, participants will get a taste of how it feels to live in poverty housing. Prizes will be given for each stage of the challenge and for the overall winners. But before all of the fun and games, teams must raise around £2,950 as a fundraising exercise. Habitat for …
