Colin Tutt, former chief executive and chairman of Octagon Developments, has passed away following a long battle with cancer.
Tutt had a long and prestigious career within the housebuilding industry. He joined the sector as an apprentice carpenter, aged 16.
His 50-year career included almost four decades at Octagon Developments, including 16 years as ceo and four as executive chairman, He shaped both the company’s direction and the high-end property landscape of the UK.
Under Tutt’s leadership, Octagon Developments grew from building five or six homes a year to 50 homes annually.
Tutt retired from Octagon in 2021 to spend more time with his grandchildren, travel and play golf. He is survived by his wife and lifelong partner, Debbie – they were together since he was 17 - his two sons and grandchildren.
