Homes England appoints experienced regen leader

Homes England has appointed regeneration leader John Reid as its executive director for technical capacity and coordination, which it says is a “pivotal role” within the agency’s new operating model.

Homes England’s regionally focused operating model is due to take effect in April, with Reid joining the agency in March to lead a nationally managed technical capacity and coordination hub.

Through this, Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency, will provide specialist expertise to be deployed flexibly throughout the development process, boosting delivery across the five regions of England as detailed in its new operating model.

These five regions – North West, North East, Midlands, London and east and South – will feature new executive regional directors as announced in December. Reid’s appointment is the agency’s “latest progress milestone” as it undertakes its strategic plan.

Reid has extensive experience of delivering complex, high-value programmes and housing initiatives at scale across the public and private sectors. He comes to Homes England from Herts Living where he is currently managing director. Reid was previously director of the estate development programme at The Grosvenor Estate.
