<b></b><p></p><p><b><b>Paul Healey, joint managing director of Laing Homes, sits in the Housebuilder hot seat and reveals that he once stood in for Santa, nearly became a chicken farmer and had a row with a referee at a school rounders match</b></b><br><b><b>Family?</b></b><br> Married to Fiona, with three children and three step-children</p><p><b><b>First ever job? </b></b><br> As a 17 year old I was Father Christmas in the grotto at a Leicester department store when the man himself did not turn up!</p><p><b><b>First industry job?</b></b><br> My first job was at Laing in 1967 as a junior QS, working on the Attenborough Building at Leicester University, working for a guy called Ray Ritchie, the only man I know who supports Leicester City and Carlisle Utd</p><p><b><b>Why housebuilding/construction? </b></b><br> After six weeks in the sixth form at school, I realised A Levels were not for me. The careers office suggested three options:</p><p>apprentice chicken farmer (I don&amp;’t like live chickens!)trainee post office clerk (well!)OND in Building</p><p>A friend of my father&amp;’s, actually called Mick Jagger, who was a QS for a building contractor in Leicester, suggested the building industry.
