It was a great job - rainy days were spent sitting in a shed drinking tea and reading magazines!</p><p><b><b>First industry job?</b></b><br> My first job was as a trainee quantity surveyor based on a site in the north east of England. My main responsibility involved making tea and fetching fish and chips - dubious preparation for a career in quantity surveying </p><p><b><b>Why housebuilding/construction?</b></b><br> I wanted an outdoor, non manual job and construction seemed to fit the bill.
