Housing secretary to speak at HBF conference

Housing secretary Steve Reed is set to speak at the Home Builders Federation’s Policy Conference in March, giving the industry a flavour of how the government will help the industry to "Build, baby, build" to meet the 1.5 million new homes target in this parliament.

More than six months into his role at the time of the conference, Reed will address the industry and lay out what can be expected from government and what the government expects from industry.

His thoughts will be reinforced by fellow speaker Homes England chief executive Amy Rees, also in her first year in the role. She will look at what Homes England is doing to facilitate new homes delivery.

The HBF Policy Conference will take place on March 24 at 1 Wimpole Street, London.

It will analyse the market, discuss mortgages and finance, look at government policy, assess ideas to improve planning as well as explore the challenges of skills, resources, materials and innovation.

There will also be insights into environmental, sustainability and quality issues and discussion on how innovation and excellence will help on the road to net zero.
