Inspectors come calling

<b>Housebuilders, prompted by the CML initiative, are improving handover quality. But they need to, given the rise of outfits such as inspectorhome.com</b><br><b>So CML (as it&amp;’s come to be known) is nearly upon us. I have expressed some doubts in the past about this initiative. I am concerned that whilst it will result in homes being more &amp;“build complete&amp;” for warranty purposes it won&amp;’t necessarily result in more homes that are cosmetically complete and with everything plumbed in, plugged in and working properly at the point of completion. Without these in place we will not improve customer satisfaction.</b><br> But recent visits to housebuilders have made me feel a bit more confident. Every builder I have spoken to seems determined not only to meet CML but also to greatly improve handover quality. Feedback from them about NHBC trials seems to suggest that a tougher than expected stance is being taken by the inspectors and that&amp;’s a good thing too. <p></p><p><b><b>time for change</b></b><br> Let&amp;’s face it, things do need to change.
