Linden reveals details of £60,000 house design

Linden Homes has released details of its £60,000 house design, which it has entered into the government’s Design for Manufacture competition. The two-storey homes, developed in partnership with timber frame manufacturers Optima and architects John Thompson and Partners, will be constructed off site using a closed panel timber framed system. The homes will arrive on site pre-assembled, with insulation and windows already in place, and can be constructed within one day. Linden Homes chief executive Philip Davies said: “By providing free land for the construction of these £60k homes, the government has allowed housebuilders to explore innovative new construction methods that enable us to build more properties at a faster rate, for lower costs. Linden Homes is proud to be leading the field in modern methods of housebuilding while at the sometime creating a new entry level to the housing market for first time buyers.”
