Housebuilders have the chance to better last year&amp;’s successes in the Housing Design Awards in which they formed two thirds of the entries, and a majority of the winners. &amp;“We&amp;’re hoping there&amp;’ll be an even bigger turnout this year,&amp;” says award chairman Graham Pye. &amp;“We know there are some really good schemes under way out there which deserve recognition. A few housebuilders still seem to think that the more traditional schemes don&amp;’t have much chance. That&amp;’s not true, and the past award winners are there to prove it.&amp;” <p></p><p> The Housing Design Awards are promoted by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the NHBC, the RIBA and the RTPI. Both projects and completed schemes are eligible for entry. Once again, Housebuilder will be sponsoring a special award for the best private sector entry at lower densities (below 70 dwellings per hectare), while Building for Life will sponsor a similar award for schemes at a higher density.</p><p></p>
