Miller Zero to reveal details of life with low carbon

Miller Homes is set to face a huge demand for the customer feedback information from the occupants of its Code levels 3, 4, 5 and 6 homes at the Miller Zero development in Basingstoke. So far Miller has shared general cost information about the project with the industry, revealing that the Code level 6 home cost £50,000 more than the homes built to current Building Regulations. Miller has also hosted a series of visits to the project for organisations to learn about the homes. But Miller Homes chief executive Tim Hough says that the most important information is set to come from the experiences of the occupants who are about to move in. “We are set to learn a huge amount from them, such as their ability to live with the technology, maintain it and their energy use. There is a huge demand for this information which we will provide – but with limitations.” Hough stresses that the project has been costly and time consuming for Miller. “I could have stopped the scheme many times in the past two years, but chose to continue,” he said. “I’m glad I did.
