John Thompson has been appointed ceo of Robust Details Ltd (RDL). Thompson has worked for the company for nine years in a number of roles, most recently as finance director. He succeeds John Tebbit who will continue as a non-executive director and chairman of the company’s Standards Committee.
Robust Details was established to implement the “robust detail” alternative to mandatory pre-completion sound testing for new homes, under the provisions of the Building Regulations (Part E). More than 1,000,000 new homes have been registered with RDL since the scheme’s launch in 2004.
“I’m really looking forward to taking the business forward,” said Thompson. “I firmly believe that the principles of our Part E scheme are now firmly established and I fully intend do my best to help RDL’s customers continue to deliver high levels of compliance with Building Regulations, ensuring that our particular part of the build process is as problem-free as it can possibly be.”
