<b><b>Miller desires</b></b><br> The Miller Group has expressed a desire to expand geographically to the Midlands and south of England through acquisition of a housebuilding business.<p></p><p><b><b>Completions rise</b></b><br> DTLR figures reveal that there were 38,700 private housing completions in the three months to February 2002, 13% up on the previous three months and 9% up on last year.</p><p><br> </p><p><b><b> Letter</b></b><br><b>Sir</b><br> I refer to the article by Steve Menary, The Pursuit of Excellence (Housebuilder April 2002), and the following statement: Out of the major quoted housebuilders, Wimpey and its subsidiary McLean performed the best - along with Crest Nicholson.</p><p>This was factually incorrect. Wimpey dropped two stars on value for money, giving it 19 stars. McLean Homes dropped one star on overall satisfaction and another on after sales service, giving it 19 stars. Crest Nicholson dropped one star on value for money, giving it 20 stars. </p><p>It rather defeats the object of top performers getting favourable publicity for excellence when magazines such as yours cannot get it right.</p><p>My congratulations to all those who gained 21 stars - it takes a lot of hard work.</p><p>John Callcutt</p><p> Crest Nicholson</p><p><br> </p><p></p>
