<b>Responsibility issue</b><p></p><p> George Wimpey has raised &amp;£240 million on the US markets as part of its ongoing strategy to diversify sources of capital and to lengthen the maturity of borrowings.</p><p><b></b></p><p><b> Award for St George</b></p><p> St George has received the Queen&amp;’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development in 2002. It is the first time the award has been granted to a property developer and recognises the company&amp;’s approach to building successful mixed use schemes in London.</p><p><b></b></p><p><b> Reasons for shortage</b></p><p> A lack of infrastructure, an over-regulated planning system, an unsupportive fiscal system, insufficient housing grant and skills shortages are the five reasons so few homes are being built in the capital according to London First. Its report Housing London - Delivering Solutions identifies 68 solutions including fast tracking sustainable schemes and building new river crossings.. </p><p></p>
