Sir John Carter will be the next chairman of NHBC succeeding Sir Michael Pickard when he retires in November. <p></p><p>Sir John joined NHBC&amp;’s board as a non-executive director in 1999, soon after retiring as chief executive of Commercial Union where he had seen through the merger between CU and General Accident to form CGU. </p><p></p>
