<b><b>John Prescott&’s recent housing statement continues to build on the government&’s drive to ensure the industry provides well-designed quality developments to a higher density. That policy has so far had significant success, and nowhere is this more obvious than on the developments of David Wilson Homes. Once the most traditional of developers, now the firm is building a wide mix of property. Ben Roskrow visited a series of the firm&’s Sheffield developments with chief executive Mike Stansfield</b></b><br><b>There&’s no sign of the cute labrador. No sign of the checky slipper. No sign of a five-bed brick executive home. In fact, for a moment I wonder whether David Wilson Homes chief executive Mike Stansfield and his northern region md Jim Cropper have brought me to the wrong site.</b><br><b>While I appreciated that Stansfield wanted to show me the new and wider portfolio of his firm, four striking apartment blocks with bright blue fa&çades were not quite what I expected. </b><br><b>But this is Riverside Exchange, a city centre development of 214 apartments alongside the River Don on the site of an old brewery.
