Prestige developments take centre stage

<b></b>Two of England&amp;’s best new private sector residential developments will be showcased at the first Building for Life seminar which will take place in Manchester on April 11. <i>Building for Life</i> is the joint initiative between CABE, the House Builders Federation and the Civic Trust which aims to gather evidence about the type of new homes that meet both planning and consumer expectations.<br>The Manchester seminar will analyse and evaluate the planning and design details behind Bishops Mead, Chelmsford by Bryant Homes and Brockwell Gate, Tulse Hill by Fairclough Homes. Each project offers pointers to how to build to PPG3 standards while still giving the public homes they want.<p></p><p>&amp;“There is growing awareness of good design amongst consumers, whether they are shopping for clothes, furniture or houses,&amp;” said CABE chief executive Jon Rouse. &amp;“That is why we think that every housebuilder in the UK needs to be at the<i> Building for Life</i> seminar, in order to find out how design excellence can sell houses and increase the potential market for new homes.
