Ben Roskrow talks to Redrow boss Paul Pedley about the firm&amp;’s shift into steel frame housing</b><br><b>Redrow chief executive Paul Pedley describes his firm as one that likes to make &amp;“steady progress&amp;” in business terms. &amp;“The firm has only changed direction a couple of times,&amp;” says Pedley, &amp;“most notably in the early 1980s when we switched into private housebuilding. Since then we have had our core housing business which has steadily developed year on year.&amp;”</b><br><b><b>strong message</b></b><br> So Redrow&amp;’s decision to throw itself wholeheartedly into the steel frame market setting up a joint venture with manufacturer Corus is not to be taken lightly. A conservative firm is shifting away from traditional building materials and into the world of prefabrication and framing.
