Teacher moves into landmark house

<i>Teacher Simon Jones, his wife Robyn and daughter Georgie outside their key worker home</i><p></p><p> Teacher Simon Jones and his family have been allotted one of six affordable homes built by Laing Homes North Homes Counties in St Albans, Herts, and which were subject of a landmark appeal decision.</p><p> The local council had wanted to allocate the homes on the Old Albanian Park development to applicants from the housing list, but Laing successfully argued that the homes should be offered to workers in essential jobs who otherwise could not afford to live in the town. The properties were offered on a 20 year lease to local teachers earning less than &amp;£25,000 a year.</p><p></p>
