<b><b>A frustrating month for our undercover arctic mammal sees him in some disagreement with colleagues about the appropriate response to the Planning Green Paper</b></b><br><b>Rumour has it that the authors of the Planning Green Paper intended it to be as &amp;“white&amp;” as possible. Certainly, most commentators on the subject agree that it should be regarded as a broadly green paper with some distinct white edges. From my point of view, I feel that it could have been more absorbent. Perforated edges would also have helped.</b><br><b>Seriously though, the debate about the reform of the planning system has rather caused me to fall out with some of my colleagues. Although we have banged on for years and years about the problems with the existing system, the prevailing opinion in our office now is that it would be better not to change it too much after all. </b><br><b>Brilliant. It puts me in mind of Monty Python&amp;’s accountant who, after seeking career guidance with a view to taking up lion-taming, ultimately forms the view that it would be better either to stick with accountancy, or to make the transition to lion-tamer in easy steps, perhaps starting with banking or insurance.</b><br><b><b>nettle grasping</b></b><br> I have had a …
