When Middlesbrough plasterer Glenn Melvin decided to take a new direction after 25 years in the trade, he looked to the growing market for thermal insulating render. After studying up on thermal standards and experimenting with a range of mix designs, Melvin has established Walltransform and developed the Wallreform render.

The render is designed to be trowel or spray applied internally or externally to a depth relative to the desired level of thermal insulation, ranging from around 12-15mm for regular or anti-condensation plaster to 40mm plus for additional efficiency. It is available in a range of finishes, including brick effect. Wallreform is now Board of Agrement certified, and has made its way onto the Energy Saving Trust&’s website as a recommended external insulant.

Melvin says: &“Because I was a plasterer working for myself I had time to spend on experimenting with various mixes until I got it right.
