Taylor Wimpey’s Danielle Michalska-Morris has been appointed to the government’s Fundamental Review of Building Regulations Guidance panel.
Michalska-Morris is one of six members appointed to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s (MHCLG) panel, which has been established to review Approved Documents within Building Regulations as one of the recommendations of the Grenfell Tower final report.
This also follows the government’s announcement in December 2024 that the Building Safety Regulator would lead a review of Building Regulations guidance, focusing on how the guidance within the Approved Documents is produced, structured and presented.
MHCLG said each panel member would support and inform the review, harnessing their “extensive experience across a range of sectors”.
Michalska-Morris is volume housebuilder Taylor Wimpey’s director of research and technical innovation. She carries expert knowledge and experience in low carbon building design and building services.
The other members of the panel include planner Rachel Ferguson, who is senior development manager at fellow housebuilder Pocket Living, centring on affordable housing. Ferguson has extensive expertise in the field, bringing her ranging experience in planning - strategic masterplans, estate regeneration projects and new build residentials - to the panel.
