Watford regen scheme launches

Construction has begun on Woodlands, the first phase of new homes at Watford Riverwell, a £400 million mixed use regeneration scheme which is the result of a partnership between Watford Borough Council and Kier Property to develop a large area of land to the south of Watford Hospital and Watford Football Club.

Launched over the summer, Woodlands will comprise 95 one, two and three bedroom apartments across three blocks located a near the River Colne which has undergone an intensive clean-up process as part of the scheme’s regeneration, and which runs through the heart of the scheme, alongside protected riverside parkland. Prices start at £280,000.

Watford Riverwelll

Watford Riverwell is the largest regeneration project in Watford and will see the rejuvenation of derelict industrial land into more than 1,000 much-needed new homes. Alongside private and affordable new homes, the developers have proposed the inclusion of a new two-form entry primary school, 4.5 acres of green community space, over 250-bed retirement village, and new retail premises which aim to bring circa 1,300 new jobs to the area.
